Where Can I Buy Raw Chinese Herbs?
How Do I Get Started?
Practitioners first need to create a free account with Transformational Herbal Pharmacy. Have an electronic copy of your license as well as your license number ready to make sure the process is as quick and easy as possible. Once you have signed up you are free to explore our intuitive interface and features. Then, after your account is confirmed, you may begin ordering products and creating prescriptions for your patients.
Can I Order Formulas Without Being a Licensed Practitioner?
Patients cannot create and/or order formulas themselves. However, a licensed practitioner (acupuncturists, naturopathic doctors, herbalists, and qualifying students) can create a prescription/order for you through our website. You can then pay for the herbal formula online and select a shipping option. We do offer other products such as dietary supplements and specialized CBD products that are available to the public. If you are in the Mid-Atlantic area, simply set up an herbal consultation with our one of our clinic’s qualified acupuncturists to find the best herbal formulas for your health goals. If you live outside of this area and are looking for a licensed practitioner in your state, find one in our Practitioner Directory.
Do You Offer Assistance in Constructing Formulas?
Yes, we offer consultations with our Chief Herbalist, Dr. Adam Miramon, to help practitioners construct the best formula for their patients. We know how complex constructing the safest and most efficient formulas can become and encourage you to reach out if you would like assistance.
Do You Offer Professional Consultations?
Yes, we offer consultations to help you construct herbal formulas, including helping you find an appropriate replacement for anything that may be out of stock or otherwise unavailable at the moment. If you have a question about the process or your order, please use our contact form reach out to us.
Can I Save Custom Formulas for Repeated Use?
Of course! You can save formulas on your dashboard so you can order or prescribe again as often as needed.
Can I Sell Transformational Herbal Pharmacy Products on My Website?
Selling our products through your website is not permitted, however, you can quickly and easily offer your patients access to Chinese herbs and herbal formulas by either ordering for your practice’s onsite store or by creating an order for patients through our website.
This allows you to make sure your patients safely get exactly what they need — all without you having to manage an online store yourself! Additionally, patients can shop for some dietary supplements and specialized CBD products without a prescription. Browse the store.
Do You Offer Discounts?
We offer a 5% discount on all orders to Members of the American Society of Acupuncturists or its affiliated state associations.
What if a Formula or an Item in My Formula Is Out of Stock?
We strive to ensure all of our products stay in stock. In the unlikely event that an herb or herbal formula is out of stock, we will notify you as soon as possible with the status of restocking the product. We will provide you with options for substituting, replacing, or waiting to fulfill your formula.
If we are out of a particular herbal formula, we may be able to manually construct the same formula out of single herbs. If we are out of a particular single herb to complete your formula, we are available to recommend appropriate substitutions.
Can My Patients Reorder From You Directly?
Yes, they can reorder from us! As long as you have set them up with a refill they will be able to easily reorder directly through us. Practitioners are able to set both the number of refills and the duration between refills.
Where Do You Source Your Herbs From?
We use the industry’s most trusted suppliers to ensure quality and safety. Our suppliers are Legendary Herbs, Treasure of the East/Tianjiang, and Spring Wind. If, for some reason our primary supplier is out of stock, we purchase directly from Treasure of the East/Tianjiang.
Where Are Your Formulas Made?
Premade formulas are made at the supplier’s facilities. (See above for a list of our suppliers.) We also offer made-to-order herbal formulas that we make on-site.
What Testing and Safety Policies and Procedures Do You Have in Place?
Our pharmacy upholds strict safety standards and has the NCCAOM Chinese Herbal Compounding and Safety (CHCS) Certificate of Qualification (COQ). All of our suppliers also have rigorous quality control protocols and testing standards to ensure both safety and effectiveness.

Is Your Dispensary Interface HIPAA Compliant?
Yes, our dispensary interface is HIPPA-compliant for practitioners and patients. Your privacy and safety is our top priority.
What Are My Shipping Options?
Practitioners have the option to ship to their location using either UPS or USPS or pick it up from Transformational Herbal Pharmacy.* Patients have the option to pick up, ship to their practitioner’s location or their own address.
*We are conveniently located in Dupont Circle in Washington D.C.
How Quickly Are Orders Processed and Shipped?
Orders are processed during business hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm. Our goal is to process an order within 24 hours of receiving payment. If your order is placed outside of business hours on a weekend, please allow 24 hours from the following Monday for processing.
You may select a same-day local rush option during formula building for a $10 add-on fee.
My Business Is Local, Instead of Shipping Can I Pick Up My Herbal Formulas?
Yes, if you are located near Washington D.C., and wish to pick up your order from our physical location, you may select that option during checkout. Your patients may also pick up from our physical location if they desire.
You may select a same-day local rush option during formula building for a $10 add-on fee.
Can You Ship Directly to My Patients?
Yes, your patients can choose to have their prescriptions shipped directly to them during checkout.
Can I Cancel an Order?
If you have not yet paid for your order, simply cancel it online. However, once an order is placed and paid for we get to work on it very quickly. If you need to cancel an order, please call us at (202) 450-1776. If we have not finished processing your order you may be able to fully cancel your order.
What Is Your Return Policy?
Our formulas are made to order so we are not able to offer returns once you receive your order. If you have any issues with your order, please contact us.
What Payment Methods Do You Accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express).
